Get Started with Immersive
You’re ready to read German content with confidence.
Here’s how to get started in 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Pin Immersive to your Chrome bar
To make sure it’s always visible and ready to use:
- Click the puzzle icon in your Chrome toolbar.
- Find Join Immersive in the list.
- Click the pin 📌 icon next to it.
Step 2: Open a German website and activate Immersive
To simplify any German website, just do this:
Go to the icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
Find “Immersive” and toggle it ON for the site you’re on.
🔓 This gives Immersive permission to work on that website—so you can simplify, translate, and learn from real content.
📌 Important: Immersive only works one site at a time for security reasons. So if you jump to a new site, toggle it on again there.

Step 3: Highlight German text to simplify or translate
Highlight any sentence or phrase you don’t understand -> A small menu will appear. Choose to either:
- Simplify the sentence
- Translate it
Then just wait a few seconds for the result.

Save Words, Review Later
Tap the star. That’s it. When you come across a word you don’t know, click the star icon next to it. It’ll get saved automatically, and you can review everything you’ve starred—right from the extension. No extra tabs. No notebooks.
Access Settings and Saved Words
Click the Immersive icon in your browser bar. From there, you can change german level, check your saved words, tweak your preferences, or drop feedback. More features coming. For now, it’s the control room—small but mighty.
